Benku

Blogging a struggle
Mired in an endless funk
Haiku to rescue

Baby gains slowly
Feeding child constantly
Bottom three percent

Tissue grows around
trach, needs to go soon, minor
surgery June 1st

Gurgling as he eats
Swallow study upcoming
Surgery once more?

Baby needs prune juice
Dirty diapers rare; when seen
Wife does dance of joy

Rejoice always, pray
without ceasing, in all give
thanks, I am failing

Ben loves powered swing
Cheesy music pacifies
Dad happy and sad

When I come home, Ben
smiles at me; could there be
anything better?

Haiku just for fun
Stop counting the syllables
Admit it, you were

OK, so I was
Counting, just as you figured
Clairvoyant are you?

When we see Ben's smile
Even in the gloom of doubt
We perceive life's joy

Ah, you creative genius, you. Praying for you. I was terribly amiss in wishing your beautiful wife a happy mother's day. Please let her know that I think she is one of the best mommies in the world. I am also praying for your sweet family.

Whit and Adrienne, don't give up and don't despair. I remember having to slowly pump the bottle into Aaron's mouth until he could actually drink out of a acup. Actually, we resorted to a infant feeder. The weight gain will come and Ben is already a testament to God's power. You and Adrienne are also a testament as to what can be done with God's help. Hang in there. Dark Caro syrup is worth a try too. My kids never like the prune juice but the grape worked just as well. Take care and know that we love you and are praying for your sleep and health. And especially for Ben to gain weight and amaze the doctors even more.
Personally, I like Haiku and I didn't count the syllables. Love to all, Vickie, Joe, and Aaron

Father, hold your child,
Breathe Your Holy Breath thru Ben.
Your Spirit can make

All things new and true.
In Jesus Christ we pray it,
Heal Body. Heal Soul.

Bless Ben's Mom and Dad.
Help them see Your Path and Hope.
Give strength for the day!

Amen and Amen
In the name of Jesus, Christ
Amen and Amen.
