Sea Walkers

Do you realize that we've spent the last month walking on water together? If you try, you can almost feel the water splashing against your feet and the brisk wind coming off the sea as the sky begins to glow before the dawn. Can you hear Jesus calling us out of the boat even though it seems utterly foolish to hope that we could do such a thing? We have walked together by faith, and God has seen our feeble efforts and allowed us to spend a few moments with his son, standing where people do not stand. And as we get back in the boat, the only thing that seems right to do is exactly what the disciples did 2,000 years ago. They worshiped Jesus and confessed, "Truly, you are the Son of God."

Now that Benjamin is home with us and the boat is safely back at the shore, I know that some of you will praise God for his power and move on to other things that God has called you to do. One child cannot consume the prayers of so many forever. May God use Ben's life to encourage you as you serve our Father wherever you go. But Adrienne, Ben, and I are captivated by the one who has had mercy on us, and if you want to come along, I'll continue to tell the story of what God does in Ben's life as we try to keep following the one who has led us this far.

It's good to be home,
Whit, Adrienne, and Benjamin

Whit, Adrienne, and Ben, It is so wonderful to hear that Ben passed his sleep test and is home. Praise God! I can't think of anything better than to continue to hear about your wonderful family. WE are so thankful that you have given God the glory and stepped onto the water and let HIM take care of you. The nights may get long, and the days a little tiring, but I know that you will all do well. God Bless and Keep you. WE love you and will continue to pray for all of you. Ben, welcome home! Please keep telling us your wonderful story. vickie, JOe and Aaron. :)

We are so pleased that Ben is home now and you can be all together as a family. I know God has worked so richly in your lives with little Ben and I give Him the glory for that. Your great faith and tremendous love for God is so wonderful and encouraging to us all.

Thank you, Whit, for all your postings and photos, Ben is so gorgeous, and its lovely to see the two of you with him.

May God continue to bless you all as the days, weeks, months and years go by and we look forward to hearing and seeing Ben grow.

Our love to you three and also Kay and Noel and all your family members.

Welcome home, Ben.

Whit and Adrienne, you can truly say, "Follow me, as I follow Christ." It has been obvious in your words this past month.

whit & adrienne,
so glad is ben is home with you. i took care a ben a few times in the nicu. i wanted to tell you guys about a valve for tracheostomy's that allows for swallowing/speaking/coughing. with it on, you could actually hear ben!! i'm not sure if you were made aware of this before he was discharged, if so disregard this. :) it is called a "passy-muir" valve, info can be found at passy-muir.com. another one of my trach patients uses it while on the ventilator & it allows him to cough up & swallow some of his own secretions & allows us to actually hear him cry. while i'm not an expert on it, i think it would work great for ben!! check into it if you would like.
best wishes, tiffany

Dear Whit, Adrienne and Ben,
Once again we rejoice with you and although there is a long road ahead, looking at the picture of Ben and Whit sleeping all that comes to mind is the wonderful song, "Peace, Perfect Peace"...

Praise God for His lovingkindness.

What sweet, sweet moments you are going to have the next several months. Just cherish him while he's so very little, because soon it will be hard to imagine him so small! :0)

Glad to know that he is doing well. I'm out of the loop a bit...what were his final results from the brain scan, or do you not know that yet? Keep the pictures coming...he's such a doll! Rici, Jason and Linc
